DESIRE PATHS

Desire Paths are routes established by pedestrians, cyclists, and wildlife that outline paths deemed more appealing to those traveling them. These paths are shortcuts or simpler alternatives to the established paved routes.

The journey from one point to another can look very different from the perspective of a landscape architect or city planner than it does to someone on the ground.
Regardless of good intentions, the constructed environment doesn't always cater to the needs of the people it's designed to accommodate.
